What GearUP says about the free trial
On the subscription page, GearUP describes the offer as “3-day full access for 12 months deal – test now, pay later”. Section 10.2 of the GearUP User Agreement adds the rules:
- the free trial lasts three days, unless a different length is shown when you sign up;
- at the end of the trial, GearUP starts billing the payment method you chose;
- the subscription renews automatically until you cancel it;
- if you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.
In other words, the trial is the start of a paid subscription. If you only want to try GearUP Booster, plan to cancel.
How to cancel before you are charged
GearUP’s terms say the way to cancel depends on the platform and device. In general:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → GearUP → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → GearUP → Cancel.
- PayPal: Settings → Payments → Automatic payments → GearUP → Cancel.
- GearUP account: account settings → Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least a day before the trial ends and keep a screenshot of the cancellation. Some users report on third-party complaint sites that they were charged near the end of the trial, so a margin helps.
Refunds
The subscription page shows a “7-day money-back guarantee” on every plan. The User Agreement, on the other hand, says purchases are final and non-refundable unless the terms or local law say otherwise, with 14-day rules for the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK. Read the terms shown at checkout before you pay, and contact GearUP support if you need a refund.
