Battlefield 6 lag: how to lower your ping

By , CEO of Leaven Marketing · Code verified at checkout on

In Battlefield 6, lag shows up as shots that don't land, vehicles that rubber-band and deaths after you've already left cover. EA shows in the game itself where to see your ping and network performance. If you choose a booster, the code LEAVEN takes 10% off GearUP Booster.

How to see your ping in Battlefield 6

According to EA’s official help:

  1. Pause the game and open Options.
  2. Go to System.
  3. Under Network, turn on Scoreboard Ping. Each player’s ping appears next to their name on the scoreboard.

How to see the network graph

In the same place, under System > Network, choose Network Graph and select Modify. You can set the network performance bar or graph to show always, never or only on problems. “On Problems” is the most practical setting for playing.

What EA recommends

According to EA, high ping, packet loss and lag can come from distance to the server, weak Wi-Fi or many people using the same network. The official tips:

  • Check EA’s server status before touching your network.
  • In Portal, use the Server Browser to pick a server near you.
  • Use Ethernet. On Wi-Fi, keep the router in the open and as close to your device as possible.
  • Change your wireless channel, which may be crowded.
  • Check your device’s date and time.
  • Set your DNS manually, such as Google Public DNS.

EA also notes that some regions don’t have servers, and that when matchmaking takes long you may be placed on a farther server.

GearUP code LEAVEN for Battlefield 6 with less lag

If your network is fine and lag only shows on the route to the server, a booster can help. According to GearUP, Battlefield 6 is on its supported games list, and the realistic gain is a steadier route with fewer spikes, not turning a distant server into a local one. On console, according to GearUP, boosting works through the HYPEREV router, sold separately. Results depend on your connection; no booster guarantees a fixed ping.

GearUP Booster has a 3-day free trial that turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. If you subscribe, pick the 12-month plan, which has the lowest monthly price, and enter LEAVEN for 10% off. See the GearUP coupon code guide.
