Which Fortnite region should I pick?

The closest region to you usually gives the lowest ping. On Auto, the game picks based on your connection.

Is console lag different from PC?

The game is the same, but consoles are often farther from the router and on Wi-Fi. A cable fixes many cases.

Do boosters work for Fortnite on console?

According to GearUP, yes, through the HYPEREV router, sold separately, which also needs the membership.

Fortnite High Ping: How to Fix It + GearUP Code LEAVEN

By Leonardo Araújo, CEO of Leaven Marketing · Code verified at checkout on October 21, 2026

In Fortnite, lag shows up when building, editing and fighting. This guide shows how to see ping and packet loss, how to pick the right matchmaking region and what changes between PC and console. If you choose a booster, the code LEAVEN takes 10% off GearUP Booster.

How to see your ping in Fortnite

Open Settings and go to the Game UI tab.
Turn on Net Debug Stats.
In a match, the game shows ping and packet loss in real time.

Pick the right region

According to Epic Games, Fortnite uses matchmaking regions and can place you in any subregion of the region you chose to balance ping, queue times and fair matches. Pick the region closest to you, or Auto.

PC or console

PC: use a cable, stop launchers from downloading updates and update your network driver.
PlayStation and Xbox: connect the console by cable and avoid background downloads. According to GearUP, Fortnite on PlayStation is boosted through the HYPEREV router, sold separately.

Your network or the route?

Symptom	Likely cause	What to do
High ping in every game	your connection or Wi-Fi	cable, router, provider
Packet loss only in Fortnite	route to the servers	test other times or a booster
Everyone lags at once	Epic servers	check Epic Games status

GearUP code LEAVEN for Fortnite with less lag

If your network is fine and the lag continues, the route to the server may be the cause. According to GearUP, Fortnite is on its supported games list on PC and console. Results depend on your connection; no booster guarantees a fixed ping.

GearUP Booster has a 3-day free trial that turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. If you subscribe, pick the 12-month plan, which has the lowest monthly price, and enter LEAVEN for 10% off. See the GearUP coupon code guide.
