Brawl Stars lag: how to lower your ping
By Leonardo Araújo, CEO of Leaven Marketing · Code verified at checkout on
Short, fast Brawl Stars matches don't forgive lag: your brawler stutters, attacks come out late and enemies seem to teleport. Knowing how the game picks a server solves much of it. If you choose a booster, the code LEAVEN takes 10% off GearUP Booster.

How Brawl Stars picks your server
According to Supercell support, the game connects you to the nearest server, and having several regional servers is meant to reduce lag. There are exceptions: if a match takes long to find, or if you play with friends outside your region, the game may move you to the next-best server, farther away. Supercell also explains that player count, the distance between players and the distance to the server all affect match performance.
What to do
- Play with friends in your region for the lowest ping.
- Strong Wi-Fi or stable 4G/5G: far from the router, mobile data can do better.
- Close background apps and pause downloads during matches.
- Peak hours: if matchmaking takes long, the game may look for a farther server.
