Overwatch 2 high ping: how to fix the lag

By , CEO of Leaven Marketing · Code verified at checkout on

In Overwatch 2, lag shows up as shots that don't register, late abilities and heroes that snap back. Blizzard gives you two network screens that show whether the problem is your connection or your computer. If you choose a booster, the code LEAVEN takes 10% off GearUP Booster.

How to see latency in Overwatch 2

According to Blizzard support, performance information shows in the top-left corner:

  • On PC: shortcut Shift+Ctrl+R.
  • On console: Options > Video > Show Network Stats.

The two network numbers that matter:

  • LAT (latency): the time it takes the server to respond to your command. Lower is better.
  • IND (interpolation delay): a small buffer that keeps other players’ movement smooth. According to Blizzard, it’s normally around 50 to 60 ms; much higher points to a connection problem.

The network graph (Netgraph)

On PC, Shift+Ctrl+N opens the network graph. Blizzard recommends using the right Shift key so you don’t trigger an ability by accident. Since the graph covers much of the screen, use it only to troubleshoot. What to look for:

  • Orange bar: latency went above the interpolation delay. According to Blizzard, this usually means a connection problem.
  • White bar: your computer took longer than expected to process data from the server. That’s PC performance, not your internet.
  • LOSS IN / LOSS OUT: incoming and outgoing packet loss.

Network fixes that help

  • Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, on PC and console.
  • Pause downloads and streaming during matches.
  • Restart the router when latency rises for no reason.
  • Test at other times: if latency only rises at night, the problem is likely your provider’s network.

GearUP code LEAVEN for Overwatch 2 with less lag

If the graph shows orange bars while your home network is fine, the problem may be the route to the server. In that case a booster can help. According to GearUP, Overwatch 2 is on its supported games list, and the app switches routes when it finds congestion. Results depend on your connection; no booster guarantees a fixed ping.

GearUP Booster has a 3-day free trial that turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. If you subscribe, pick the 12-month plan, which has the lowest monthly price, and enter LEAVEN for 10% off. See the GearUP coupon code guide.
